I’m in. Wait what?

  • Somatic work is just a fancy way of saying let’s invite the body back into the conversation. Through breath, movement, and awareness, you start to feel what’s real instead of trying to think your way to clarity. The modality I facilitate is somatic breathwork.

  • At its core, breathwork is exactly what it sounds like: using your breath on purpose.

In practice, it’s a guided way of breathing that helps you move stuck energy, emotions, or thoughts through your system instead of letting them pile up.

You might notice tingling, tears, laughter, or just a big exhale you didn’t know you were holding. You can’t do it wrong. Your body decides what it needs to release; the breath just gives it permission.

  • When you’re feeling really sick, does some part of you wish for a measurable fever or a test or a scan of some kind that will show on the outside that you are “really” sick? In reality there are so many ways we can be ill, in pain, and need rest with no external “proof.”

Our culture trains us to seek permission to behave in any way that is not productive, positive, and easy for the people around us. We have a hard time giving ourselves this permission when we are physically sick and we have an even harder time giving ourselves permission when we are feeling emotionally overwhelmed.

When practitioners and therapists talk about “holding space,” we are talking about standing outside of you and holding back the narrative that says you’re not allowed to feel exactly as good/bad/big/small as you do. When your inner voice says “this shouldn’t be a big deal,” we are there to say, “it is a big deal. Let it be a big deal.”

  • It’s not about performing peace or “releasing trauma” on cue. It’s about getting curious. You might cry, laugh, or feel nothing at all (that one’s normal too). You might leave with more questions than answers. You’ll feel a little closer to you again.

  • You’re not broken. Perhaps you’ve been trained to treat yourself in unhelpful ways. YOU can undo that training. I’m not a guru or spiritual leader. I’m not your higher power. I’m a human person who’s also figuring it out. I have learned to listen to my body after years of trying to outsmart it. I’d love to be a part of that journey for you, too. See “holding space” in the tab above :)

I’m not here to fix you or tell you what your breath “means.” I’m here to help you notice what’s already true beneath your social conditioning. I’ll be there beside you (never above you) with a mix of humor, warmth, and a healthy respect for whatever you already believe.
